Halloween 2015

This year we had a bat and a rock star for Halloween.  The kids enjoyed their school parties and parades around town. Then we went to our friends' house to trick-or-treat.

Learning to Read

Clara is loving learning how to read.  We laughed when we saw the bonus on this spelling test, "Clara is osum."

Charlie Turned Four!

For Charlie's birthday, he wanted his best friends, Corey and Brayden, over to celebrate.  So, we had a rescue-hero party.  As a party favor, each friend received a water tank with sprayer.  Clara helped hide red plastic cups with tissue paper "fires" around the yard so the boys could put the fires out.  They did a nice job washing the windows too. 

After lunch and cupcakes, a sneaky robber stole all Charlie's birthday presents.  Luckily, the robber left some clues.  So, the boys used their detective skills to find the robber.  After a hunt around the yard, the robber was caught red-handed in the driveway.  The kids used their "bad guy spray" to stop him in his tracks.

Rock Climbing

In late September, we took the kids rock climbing.  They scampered right up the rock but were a little timid when it was time to rappel down.  They did amazing and didn't want to leave.

An Early Goose Hunt

Jared and Charlie woke up before sunrise to goose hunt in early September.  Jared was happy to have help setting-up the decoys and Charlie was more than happy to enjoy the hunting tradition of donuts in the blind.  I think both Jared and Charlie were surprised to see one lonely goose actually fly into the decoy spread.  After Charlie hunkered down in his hunting blind, Jared took a shot, and Elsi retrieved the bounty.  Jared insists it was a gift from hunters of the past.  Charlie was very proud.
